Dale L. Ross

As a real estate consultant and/or broker to many companies, Dale has been involved with asset management, renovations, and sales disposition of commercial and residential ground, hotels, multi-family apartment buildings, shopping centers, and office buildings. His activities have also included negotiations with lenders, limited partners, developers, and investors; preparation of property budgets; contract negotiations; and working with franchise companies, tenants and other related parties in various capacities. As the owner’s representative for commercial properties totaling in excess of $300 million, he has been directly responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of thousands of employees in various capacities. He has more than forty years’ experience as a broker in residential and commercial real estate and property management.

He holds real estate brokers’ licenses in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. In 1984, Dale formed Pioneer Realty, Inc., as a boutique real estate company, specializing in residential and commercial investments.

In 1994, he co-founded the Metropolitan Regional Information Systems, Inc. (MRIS) and served as its Chief Executive Officer for seven years. MRIS employed more than 110 technical and customer service staff and served more than 45,000 real estate practitioners with its multiple listing, Intranet, Internet and other real estate information technology needs in Maryland, Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and parts of West Virginia and Pennsylvania. MRIS is one of the country’s largest regional systems of its kind with its own regional portal.

In 1985, Dale served as President of the Montgomery Association of REALTORS®. Four years later, he became the youngest member to be elected President of the Maryland Association of REALTORS®, which served more than 30,000 REALTOR® members in the state of Maryland. In 2001, Dale became a charter member of the Board of Directors of the Partnership for Housing Foundation, Inc. a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization funded with seed money from the Maryland Association of REALTORS®. He was President of the Partnership from 2004-2008. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the real estate community, in 2001, he was awarded Maryland Association of REALTORS®’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dale has served seventeen years as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). With more than 1.3 million members, NAR is the largest trade association in the country. He served three consecutive terms as NAR’s Chairman of the Building Advisory Committee, which operates and manages its multi-million-dollar real estate portfolio. In addition, he served nine years on NAR’s Finance Committee. Dale also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the REALTORS® Information Network, a wholly owned subsidiary of NAR, which developed realtor.com, one of the most active web sites in the country. He also served on the Board of Directors of NAR’s Second Century Ventures LLC, which invests in new technologies for REALTORS®, and was chairman of NAR’s Real Property Resource Project, as well as a member of both the NAR’s Presidents Circle and RPAC Hall of Fame and is a four-star Platinum R Major Investor. He also served in 2009 as NAR Regional Vice President from Region 3 (District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia).

In 2009, NAR formed Realtors Property Resource, LLC to develop and operate a nationwide, property-centric, real estate database. Dale was selected to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of this new venture. Today, RPR® is a wholly owned subsidiary corporation of NAR, supporting the core competence of its members by providing robust property information, analytics and reports to REALTORS® so they can assist consumers in making better-informed decisions when buying or selling real property. RPR®’s platform is one of the largest property databases in the country, which contains parcel-centric data sets covering over 166 million residential and commercial U.S. properties and serves all 1.3 million REALTOR® members of NAR via its Residential, Commercial and Mobile Applications.

In May 2018, Dale retired from Realtors Property Resource and re-established his full-time real estate brokerage, investment and consulting practice.
