Montgomery County
Is one of the most populous counties in the country with over a million residents as the northern suburb to Washington, D.C. As one of the most affluent counties in the US it also has the highest percentages of residents over 25 years old with post-graduate degrees.The county has been ranked one of the wealthiest in the United States. The county provides a home for many Federal Government agencies including the National Institute of Health (NIH), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Walter Reed National Military Center, Navy Medical, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) among others.The county is also an important business and research center. It is the epicenter for biotechnology in the Mid-Atlantic Region and is the third largest cluster in the United States. Private companies such as Marriott International, Host Hotels, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Hughes Network Systems, Howard Hughes Medical Institute and GEICO are all based in Montgomery County.
Prince Georges County
The county is the eastern suburb of Washington, D.C. making it the second most populous county in Maryland. The county houses many Federal Government facilities such as Joint Base Andrews, the United States Census Bureau, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, the National Archives and Records Administration’s Collage Park facility and the Department of Agriculture Research Center. There are five key regions of the county which include North County, Central County, the Rural Tier, the Inner Beltway and the South County. One of the largest employers in the county is the University of Maryland. In the county is also located FedEx Field where the Washington Redskins football team resides as well as the Gaylord Entertainment Company and MGM Hotel & Casino complex at National Harbor.
